Just because one mechanic gave you a price for maintaining your car that you can’t afford or that you don’t want to pay, that doesn’t mean they all will – some will charge a lot less, or at least there’s a chance that they will.

It’s never a great idea to just accept the first price you’re quoted for anything, and that includes maintaining your car. If you shop around, you could find a cheaper price, which would mean you could maintain your car more easily.
