Cities are packed, jammed, polluted, and tough to move around in. It doesn’t matter whether you live there, work there, or just visit. Getting around the city can be hard work, uncomfortable, and even thoroughly unpleasant. But what turns you off about the city might not bother the guy sat next to you. Perhaps you don’t like the bus because the noise of shrieking kids on the school run gives you a headache? Or maybe you just don’t like the smell of the subway? Does the mode of transport you choose say anything about your personality or outlook on life though?
I have been commuting into work and riding the MTA 7 train for many years, in those years I have seen and heard many things. Too many to remember and for years I said I was going to write about it. Well today is the first of what could be a series of some of the fun things I see and hear on my way to work riding the 7 train.
Hey New Yorkers, the Nostalgia Train got you to the Mets game as New York City prepared to ‘Shea’ goodbye to Shea Stadium. On Sunday, September 28, 2008 New York City Transit rolled out its vintage Nostalgia Train along the 7 line in commemoration of the final regular season home game at Shea.
