It’s that time of year again and the Great Beer Expo is back for another year at NYCB LIVE at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, and there are pleny of things in store as the event gets bigger and better than ever!

The Long Island Craft Classic will return to Heckscher State Park on Saturday, August 11, 2018 for what promises to be summer’s best beer fest. This tasting event will feature craft beers from local and national breweries and a selection of wine and hard cider for sampling as well. The event offers both VIP and General Admission ticket options, each with their own advantages. All tickets include a barbeque sandwich from official event caterer, Bobbique. Live music performances from Mystery Play, one of Long Island’s best cover bands, will add to the day’s festivities. Tickets are on sale now. Another sell-out is expected. Event producer, Starfish Junction just confirmed that this year’s Spring Craft Beer Festival will be held on Saturday, April 28, in conjunction with opening weekend of Belmont Park Racetrack. Local and national craft breweries will be in attendance pouring samples of their finest brews—more than 150 beers in all. Plus, new this year, festival ticket holders can enjoy the live horse racing from the new location of the beer festival, the North Shore Terrace viewing pavilion on the fourth floor of the racetrack. SOUTH SHORE SHAKEDOWN Who Makes the Best Cocktail?
Long Island’s very first South Shore Shakedown, a competition featuring eight prominent South Shore bars/restaurants, will be held on Thursday, February 1st at T.J. Finley’s in Bay Shore, NY from 7-10pm. The event will raise funds for Gavin’s Got Heart, a local 501c3 charity with a mission to educate people about congenital heart defect (CHD) while offering support to families with children affected by CHD. www.gavinsgotheart.org.
