Volvo Penta to highlight the ease in which their technology makes sailing, for even the most novice seafarer. If however, you want a bit more of a challenge both physically and mentally why not undertake some sailing lessons and start your new hobby on a sailboat.

Go Camping

Camping is the perfect opportunity to surround yourself with some of nature’s most beautiful scenery with your nearest and dearest. One of the great things about camping is that it will get you away from the hectic demands of everyday life, especially if you go off-grid and out of range of cell phone signals. Camping is a great way to go back to basics and switch off from the modern world, that said, if you still prefer some modern comforts then why not consider glamping. It will offer up the same degree of outdoor living, just with a bed and running water.

Get a Dog

If sailing and camping are a little too impractical or unachievable for you then consider getting yourself a dog. Dogs, much like humans, need regular exercise and this will force you to get out and about, even when you really do not feel like it. If you do not have the capacity to look after a dog full time then are you able to walk a friend’s dog or offer up dog walking services? This commitment will see you getting out and about in the fresh air for some gentle exercise and your regular dose of nature, you might even be able to make a little extra cash from it.

Ditch the Car

Do you drive everywhere? Or if you don’t drive yourself are you reliant on public transport?  Ask yourself, do you really need to use transport or could you walk, cycle or run to your destination? You would be surprised just how feasible it is to ditch the car and start using your two feet instead. Not only will this give you your daily dose of exercise and natural lighting you will also be doing your bit to reduce your carbon footprint.
