Lockdown has left a lot of us feeling very bored at home. There’s only so much TV we can watch, and if you live alone, it can be even harder to find entertainment that will keep you busy on your own. If you’re struggling to find ways to entertain yourself alone, try some of these ideas.

Solo Games

You might not be able to play board games by yourself, but there are lots of games you can try. PC and console games are usually designed for one, and you can find everything from Chess to first-person-shooter games, depending on your taste. Try games on your phone with PlayPhone Games for some games to play while you’re watching TV. You could buy yourself a jigsaw to occupy your evenings.

Learn Something New

If you have more time on your hands, why not use it to learn something you’ve always wanted to try but never had time to. With YouTube, you can learn almost anything online for free, whether that’s repairing your car, cooking, knitting, or woodwork. Find something that appeals to you and start learning to keep your mind and hands occupied.

You could work on developing a hobby you already have. For example, if you already love to cook, try learning a new style or cuisine.

Read

A lot of us find that we struggle to find the time to read, and miss it. If you’d like to read more, now’s your chance. Whether you read non-fiction or fiction, treat yourself to some new books or eBooks and lose yourself in a good book.

Get Outside

You’re bound to feel bored and lonely if you’re stuck inside in the small four walls all the time. Try to get outside every day, even if it’s only for a few minutes. If you have a garden, you could do some work out there. If you’re a runner, ditch the treadmill in favor of a run outside. Take a walk at lunchtime or in the evening, or walk to pick up groceries or a takeaway coffee.

Getting some fresh air and a little exercise will make you feel much better, and you’ll see other people out doing the same.

Spoil Yourself

While you don’t have anyone who needs your attention, put that attention on yourself. Spoil yourself a little bit, whatever that looks like for you. That might a long soak in a hot bath with some Epsom salts to ease tense muscles. It might be ordering your favorite takeout and eating it in front of an old movie that only you like. It might be making yourself an elaborate coffee at home.

A little treat can lift your spirits significantly.

Start A Project

A project will keep you busy and give you a sense of accomplishment as you make progress. Your project could be anything from researching your family tree, to redecorating your bedroom. Find something you’ve wanted to do but off, and start it now. After all, you have the time.
