As you get older, your body will start to fail you and there will be certain health problems that you have to deal with. Unfortunately, a lot of men don’t like talking about their health and there are some health problems that we often ignore because they’re a bit embarrassing. The problem is, ignoring a health problem is always going to make it worse, so if you are too embarrassed to talk about sensitive health issues, you could be putting yourself at risk. These are some of the health issues that men should talk about but never do.

Mental Health

There has been so much progress in the way that we talk about and treat mental health, but men are still falling behind in a big way. Societal pressures convince men that it is not masculine to talk about their feelings and emotions, and they worry that their friends will laugh at them, so they bottle it all up. The thing is, if you are open about problems when they are small and you talk them through with somebody, you will feel a lot better. However, when you bottle it all up, that’s when you will develop serious mental health issues, like depression. It’s so important that men focus on their mental health and talk about it. If you are struggling with your mental health, there is no shame in seeing a doctor and getting some help.

Erectile Dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction is a very sensitive topic for men and it can cause a lot of distress. When you are having problems performing in the bedroom, it can make you feel that you have lost your masculinity, and it often leads to mental health problems. So many men do not seek treatment for this issue because they feel embarrassed talking about it and the problem only gets worse. But there are some great painless treatments for men that can help to deal with erectile dysfunction. It’s important to remember that this happens to a lot of men, and not just when they are older, so don’t be ashamed to speak to your doctor about it.

Cancer

You would assume that if people feel an unusual lump somewhere, they will see a doctor right away to check that it is not a serious problem, like cancer. In most cases, that is true and men are willing to get lumps checked, unless they are in sensitive areas. Men tend to be embarrassed about seeing a doctor to have their testicles checked, and that is a huge problem. The earlier cancer is caught, the higher your chances of survival, which means that men are putting their lives at risk because they feel self conscious about the doctor examining sensitive areas. Even if it is a bit uncomfortable, it is so important that you see a doctor if you notice any lumps, pain or swelling in the testicles because there is a chance that it could be cancer. You should also examine yourself on a regular basis to check for irregularities.

Even though it can be a bit awkward to talk about these problems, doctors have seen it all before and they are not judging you. If you ignore these problems, you are putting your health at risk, so you need to get over that embarrassment.

Yes, thanks for these…us men are much more closed up on discussing these. A major contributor to erectile dysfunction is rarely discussed but the research is solid: https://dchealthtrendsandevidence.com/index.php/2020/05/24/how-porn-is-wrecking-our-sex-lives-and-more-current-evidence/
