Off Topic Card Game: For Those Slightly Off

Off Topic, Card game, family, friends, fun

I am always looking for a fun new game to play with friends and family. Not your Candy Land kind of game but something that makes you laugh inside and sometimes out loud. So when I was introduced to the Off Topic game where the catch phrase is “A Game For Those Slightly Off” I knew it was sure to be perfect.

The game comes with a bunch of dry erase boards and markers, a 20-sided letter die, timer and 16 different topic cards. Don’t be fooled thinking that 16 topics are not going to be enough because once you multiply that by the 20-sided alphabet die, you will see there are a TON of variations.

  1. Draw a card to set the topics.
  2. Roll the die to set the letter that your responses must begin with.
  3. Flip the sand timer and you’re off!

Race against time to write down answers for each topic that begin with the letter rolled. You are playing with anywhere from 2 to 8 people and the goal is to write down the most unique words based on that topic. The winner is the person who has the most number of unique words at the end of the game. Don’t be surprised if you have to defend your answer on occasion. If your answer is up for debate you MUST convince the other players the reason why you chose your word. If the word gets rejected you must remove that word from your list.

Don’t worry if you lose a round or 2 as you have a total of 5 rounds to win the game. Depending, this game could last 30 minutes or it could last 90 minutes. Either way, it is guaranteed to be a night of lots of laughs and debates.

Off Topic is an easy to learn, fast-paced game that quickly turns into a night of fun and laughter as the answers get more and more ridiculous. It works great as a two person game, but it gets better the more people playing. FYI: Though it is for ages 13+ there are some non-child appropriate cues so use caution when playing with your underage kids, even if they’re over 13. If that’s a concern, you can easily sort through and find the more “family friendly” cards.

With it being holiday time, it is the perfect time to purchase it for your next get together. Click here to purchase Off Topic!
