Pour the Core: Brooklyn will showcase more than 100 ciders, including local, national and international favorites like Big Apple Hard Cider, Nine Pin, Citizen Cider, ACE, Maeloc, Celt and others. For the first time, attendees will have the opportunity to sample popular Oregon ciders produced by Reverend Nat’s Hard Cider, Texas ciders produced by Argus Cidery, and New York ciders, just coming to the market, produced by MackJac. Similarly, attendees will be able to enjoy special timed releases from cider producers in the midwest, ciders from specific states like Vermont and Massachusetts, and ciders with limited availability through a game of chance on the “bartender’s choice wheel.”

The event will feature a DJ mixing tunes in the Strongbow lounge, pours aboard the Stella Cidre airstream, vendors of all kinds, and New York City food truck favorites – Jolly Pig and Dub Pies, serving up food available for purchase. Additionally, ticketholders have access to free festival seminars taking place each session where they can learn about “hopped ciders” from cider maker Nat West of Reverend Nat’s Hard Cider or “southern apples” from Wes Mickel of Argus Cidery.

“This year we’re bringing new excitement and fun to each Pour the Core event in our series of events held in Boston, Brooklyn, Long Island and Philadelphia. Our goal is always to introduce cider to consumers, help them discover different styles of cider, learn about cider as a beverage and a part of history, and give a fun, entertaining, memorable experience,” explained Kristyn Dolan, Director of Event Production at Starfish Junction which produces Pour the Core. “For Brooklyn, we’re incorporating the successful, amusing, and out-of-this-world Donut Eating Contest that attendees of other locations were able to participate in last year – it’s bound to be a blast.”

General admission tickets are $45 per person, plus tax and fees. The convenient pay-one-price includes a souvenir tasting cup provided by Woodchuck Hard Cider and two-ounce samples from any participating cider maker. Designated driver tickets are also available for $12 per person plus tax and fees. Designated drivers are not permitted to drink any alcohol and do not receive a tasting cup but will be provided bottled water. All ticketholders must be 21+, no exceptions, and bring valid photo identification to the event.
