Spring is finally here! Time to put away the porters and the stouts and get ready for light, crisp, refreshing beers you will want to drink all summer long. Two big trends in the craft beer industry right now are beers made with tea and fruit flavored beers. Here are some of my top selects from Spring Craft Beer Festival.
Wicked Watermelon 3.8 abv
Style: Shandy / Radler
This wheat beer blended with brewed white tea and watermelon concentrate. This beer is delicate and fruity, excellent for drinking poolside.
The Blondie (3.8 abv)
Style: Shandy / Radler
The Blondie is wheat beer brewed blended with black tea, citrus juices and spices. If you want to give this beer an extra kick, I suggest adding a shot of Smirnoff Tuscan Lemonade.
Watermelon Session Ale (4.9 abv)
Style: IPA/Session Ale
This is my favorite watermelon flavored beer by far. This beer combines watermelon with a crisp session ale. Look for this beer on tap or find it on cans, perfect for stocking your cooler for the beach!
Lemon Ice Tea Wine (12% abv)
Brewed by Eric S.
Eric S. from Homebrew & Handgrenades embraced the ice tea trend and created a lemon ice tea wine for the Spring Craft Beer Fest. This wine packed a punch with a 12% abv and hit all the notes of an Arnold Palmer.
