The first thing that pops into your head when you think manscaping is having absolutely no hair below the belt. The phrase has been associated with this sort of grooming for a long time now but there’s actually a lot more to manscaping than shaving down there.
We’re going to cover the other benefits of manscaping but we’ll cover how it can benefit you in the way you know the term best as well. Before we jump into that just know the actual definition of manscaping is “to alter body hair for cosmetic effect”.
By the real definition, a lot of you probably manscape more than you thought.
Do You Already Manscape?
The mildest form of manscaping is taking care of your facial hair. Do you trim your beard, style your mustache, or take pride in well-groomed facial hair? Most of us do these things and it’s the mildest form of manscaping.
Typically, manscaping is used on trouble spots on the body. Most common are trimming excessive chest and back hair.
If you’ve never ventured out and tried trimming your chest or back hair you should. It can become a very freeing feeling and when done right you won’t be left itching.
The Benefits of Manscaping
Self-Confidence – An often-overlooked result of manscaping is the boost it gives you in self-confidence. A good level of confidence is attractive and appealing with the single crowd. Just don’t fall into the cocky category.
Body Odor – When you’ve removed body hair you’ll retain less sweat and trap less dirt. In turn, you’re going to smell better naturally. This is a huge benefit to shaving below the belt.
Hidden Inches – Manscaping below the belt can make you appear up to 2″ inches larger. Who doesn’t want to appear bigger even if it is an illusion? You’ve probably heard the term “the shorter the bush the taller the tree”?
Oral Intimacy – You increase your chances of being on the receiving end of oral intimacy. I don’t think anyone appreciates getting a hair in their teeth and your partner will very much be appreciative. Of course, your mileage may vary.
All these little benefits add up to create a new level of confidence. It’s the reason manscaping has become a normal part of my hygiene routine. Personally, I just feel very clean and free when I’ve removed the bulk of body hair.
You’ll have to experiment a little and see where your comfort level is. The best way to start is by only trimming body hair low. You can always go back and trim lower or remove it altogether. Once you’ve found what you like best it’ll become quick and easy to add to your routine.
If you don’t like any of it then you’ve got nothing to lose. All your hair will grow back!
Before You Go!
Hopefully, this article shed a little light on manscaping. Hope I was successful in getting a few of you to try manscaping if you never have before. It’s something every guy should at least experiment with a few times.
