The Christmas decorations are up, those god-awful chestnuts are being played over the PA of every store in the country, and many of us are scrambling to come up with present ideas, or simply putting it off for one more week. Although we’re a fair way into winter now, there’s still a few of months’ worth of freezing weather ahead of us. If you haven’t got your winter wardrobe together already, here’s a few things to give yourself this Christmas.

Weather-Ready Parka

That light puffer jacket you have might have been seeing you through the year fairly well so far, but we’ve got colder weeks ahead of us, and pretty soon you might find that it’s not quite adequate for purpose. Don’t just grit your teeth through it! Instead, wrap up in a nice down-filled parka. One of these will not only keep you nice and toasty through the winter months, but will also provide you with a stylish, subtly rugged centerpiece to your winter look.

Snow Boots

The weather can be pretty unpredictable, even with how sophisticated all the big forecast apps are these days. Still, if last year’s anything to go by, you can be pretty certain that we’re going to get at least a little snow in New York this winter! Because of this, you should make sure that you have a dependable and good-looking pair of snow boots near the front door. These will not only keep your feet warm and dry when you’re walking in a winter wonderland, but will be a great addition to a more rugged get-up this winter. Finally; that year of arduous beard-growing pays off!

Dark Wash Jeans

Nobody’s wardrobe is complete without some good pairs of jeans, and you’re no exception! Through the winter, it’s best to stick to heavier kinds of fabrics, and deeper, more saturated colors. With this in mind, make sure you have some dark wash jeans hanging up in your wardrobe. These will be great for holding together the duller, earthy colors of your snow boots and parka. If you’re finding that your dark wash jeans are a little too understated, go looking for a new comfort click belt in something more vibrant and eye-catching.

Wool Beanie

There’s a widely purported old wives’ tale that we lose 80% of our body heat through our head. Regardless of the shaky scientific accuracy behind this, keeping your head and face warm in the winter is still very important! Pulling the toggles all the way down on your hood for a South Park’s Kenny look isn’t going to look all that great when you’re walking around doing your Christmas shopping. A large Russian-style hat with the flaps tied up can also be a little too much. However, a wool beanie in a subtle, stylish color scheme will be absolutely perfect. A beanie will be a comfortable and affordable accessory to round off your whole winter wardrobe, so get out there and start shopping!
