During the holidays, everyone has a “special gift” on their must have holiday list. For my son and my nephew, I am sure one of those is certain to be a video game but according to Sports Betting Dime it doesn’t look like kids are the only ones hoping for the latest video game. Video games are a gift that not only bridges the generation gap but also seems to be as long lasting as I can remember. When I was a kid I wanted my Atari 2600 or games for the classic system.
Today the systems have changed as well as the quality of game play and graphics but the love to play them has not. For my son, on his Christmas list could be the latest Madden 17 or Mass Effect Andromedia from EA where for my nephew it might be Call of Duty and even though I am way past my Atari days, I will be sure to get into the action of gaming with the boys. Hopefully I be some competition for them how ever so slight.
Video games have been around since the early 70s and yet it has been a trend that has not died. In fact it is quite the opposite. The worldwide video game industry was estimated to be worth as much as $35 billion in 1981. Today it is expected that the global gaming market will be worth $99.6 billion in 2016. Yes 99.6 billion. Video games are here to stay so when you ask what someone wants for the holidays, don’t be surprised if the answer you get happens to be a video game.
