Peachtree Audio is inviting music lovers to help fund development of a “full-featured, affordable” powered loudspeaker. Touted as having “every input today’s music listener needs”, the model M24 will sell for $369/pr. when it hits retailers’ shelves. As a reward for supporting the Indiegogo campaign, backers can purchase the M24 for as little as $199/pr. if they act quickly, according to Peachtree.
“There are many powered loudspeakers on the market,” says Peachtree co-founder David Solomon. “However, very few have the basic connectivity for the way people listen today, and none in this price range.” The M24 is the heart of an audio system (centering around your smart phone, turntable, music server or computer) with the connections you’ll need to listen to your music the way you want: wired, wireless, analog or digital.
The compact M24 features a 4-inch fiberglass woofer and 1-inch soft-dome tweeter, driven by an internal 50-watt amplifier. Bluetooth, USB and optical digital inputs provide a complete range of streaming options. The analog RCA input is switchable between Aux and the M24’s built-in phono preamp. “Vinyl lovers can finally connect their turntable of choice, without having to buy a separate phono box. This is huge for record lovers on a budget.” Solomon says.
The M24 also offers a subwoofer output, 5V USB charging port, front panel volume control and input selector, and a multi-function IR remote with bass and treble controls. Speaker grilles are included, along with free desktop speaker stands for Indiegogo campaign backers.
M24 buyers will be able to choose between two real-wood cabinets: Piano Black or Bamboo.
