ION Audio, a leader in lifestyle consumer electronics, today announced the immediate availability of a family of seven powerful new outdoor speakers, all with long-lasting rechargeable batteries and wireless Bluetooth® streaming technology. Five of the seven new speakers are meant for all-weather operation and feature certified IPX-rated waterproofing for use under any condition.

All seven new speakers feature long-lasting rechargeable batteries, wireless Bluetooth streaming and rich lifelike sound—five are waterproof—to keep the good times going wherever you are.

The seven speakers fall into three main groups:

First Group (2 models)

Waterproof speakers with batteries that are either solar– or AC-rechargeable

Solar Stone—the classic “rock”-looking speaker. Can be used in the garden or anywhere around the yard. Full-range speaker, 20 watts of power, wirelessly links to optional second Solar Stone for true stereo.

Keystone—looks like conventional ‘mount-on-the-house’ outdoor hi-fi speaker, but it’s so much more. Totally wireless—links wirelessly to its companion for true stereo. Recharges by solar, so you never have to plug it in. Real woofer-tweeter 2-way speaker sounds incredible. Unlike anything else, anywhere.

Second Group (3 models)

Waterproof speakers with AC-rechargeable batteries

Cornerstone—innovative triangular-shaped outdoor speaker that fits snugly into a corner, minimizing its visual presence while maximizing its acoustic performance. Full-range speaker, 20 watts of power—but sounds like 160 because it’s placed in the corner! Wirelessly links to optional second Cornerstone for true stereo.

Plunge—a compact rugged/rubberized boombox so totally waterproof it actually floats! 20 watts of dynamic power and stereo full-range speakers with bass radiators make this a great-sounding unit and its hands-free phone answering feature makes it amazingly convenient.

Patio Mate—keeps the after-hours fun going all night long. A stereo speaker with bright LED lighting in a circular housing that clamps securely to any umbrella stand. This is the product that will make people say to themselves, “Why didn’t anyone else think of this?”

Third Group (2 models)

High-powered units that run off their internal rechargeable batteries or your car, perfect for tailgating or backyard BBQs

Road Warrior—500-watt rechargeable stereo speaker with booming sound, dual 10-inch 2-way lighted speakers and angled cabinet for ideal sound projection. Road Warrior covers a wide area with unprecedented clarity and impact.

Road Rider—120-watt powered speaker with huge sound. 10-inch 2-way lighted speaker and angled cabinet for ideal sound projection.

“ION’s new outdoor speakers are enjoyable to use and sound great, plus two of them are both solar and AC rechargeable,” said Wendy Fortin, Product Manager for ION Audio. “For every use scenario—whether it’s tailgating before the game, relaxing by the pool, at a backyard cookout or that after-sunset outdoor card game—everyone can now enjoy the great ION sound. The fun goes wherever you go.”
