Sure, you could argue that 2016 has only just started. But it’s April, which means we’re already a third of the way through this year. We already know most of the awesome things coming our way in 2016. It’s time to keeping looking forward! Really forward!
If you’re ever feeling a little uncertain or anxious about the future, then check out this article. There are plenty of awesome things going down next year that’ll give you plenty to look forward to. Here’s a quick list of the best.
Star Wars: Episode VIII
Star Wars: The Force Awakens was finally released around Christmas last year. And while I’m not the biggest Star Wars fan on the planet, I’ll admit that it was pretty decent. The reception from most Star Wars fans was rapturous and ecstatic. I know at least three people who went to see it at least five times. But do you know what’s going to be even better than Episode VII? Episode VIII! It’s being written and directed by Rian Johnson, the man behind Brick and Looper. (He also directed everyone’s favorite episode of Breaking Bad.)
Super Bowl LI
The fifty-first Super Bowl is bound to be an amazing spectacle, right? This year’s Super Bowl was the third most-watched television event of all time. It featured an absolutely dynamite performance by Beyoncé. It also featured a lot of adverts. Many, many adverts. In fact, I’m not even sure I know who won the Super Bowl. Does anyone? Nah. The Super Bowl is just one big, insane entertainment spectacle. Surely next year has got to be even more impressive?
We may as well jump from one big sporting event and straight onto another. The US Masters golf tournament is pretty much the most thrilling golfing event there is. It’s not called Masters for no reason, you know. The greatest golfers of all time will be there to go head-to-head. Well, the ones who are still alive, obviously. It seems strange that we’ll have to wait so long to find out what new faces will be seen among the established masters like Tiger Woods.
This one might be a bit nerdier than the others. Yes, even nerdier than Star Wars. After all, Star Wars is hardly that obscure. But Shenmue III is simultaneously an obscure release and one of the most anticipated video games of recent years. If you had a Sega Dreamcast back in the day, chances are you played the amazing Shenmue I and Shenmue II. There were supposed to be four installments, but it’s been fifteen years since Shenmue II. Next year should finally see the release of this epic.
I hesitate when it came to adding this one. After all, we’ve already had two big-budget Spider-Man origin films since 2001. The last one wasn’t even wasn’t even five years ago! Still, Spider-Man has always provided some of the best Marvel films around. Spider-Man: Homecoming will be released next year. This year’s Captain America: Civil War will see this new Spider-Man debut.
