If you’re thinking about going on a camping holiday, you’re going to have to make a choice straight away. Are you spending your nights in a tent, a caravan or an RV? There are advantages to each choice, but I’d like to recommend the proper form of camping. Taking a tent, a rucksack, your family and laying outside under the stars. It’s a beautiful experience and one you are not likely to forget. In fact, you might even make it an annual family activity. But, there are some things that you will need to do first.

Buy A Tent – You’ll need a good one as well. It needs to be sturdy and able to handle extreme weather conditions. I also recommend you look for one that is a good size for your family. You don’t want to be stuffed inside it like sardines. On a rainy day, this will become very tiresome. Once you’ve bought your tent, it’s a good idea to get it out right away and set it up in the back yard. There are two reasons you should do this. The first is that you will need to make sure that you can set it up without any issues. The second is to check it for any leaks or wear and tear. You should be sure to do this every time you go camping. If you like, you can also spend a night out in the garden with your family, getting accustomed to sleeping in the tent.

A Few Sleeping Bags – Make sure you buy sleeping bags that are warm and cosy. Don’t cut back on the price here and buy a cheap sleeping bag. It needs to have the best insulation possible. There might be some very cold nights ahead, and you want to make sure your family are comfortable. The main reason for this is to quash any complaining before it begins. Also, if you have girls, sleeping bags with hoods are imperative. That way they can hide themselves away from any creepy crawlies that might sneak in through the night.

A Decent Grill – I know some people who love the idea of a traditional camping trip. You set up a fire with rocks and gathers twigs and wood to fuel it. Then you rub two stones together and hey presto, you’re ready to cook dinner. It sounds so simple doesn’t it? But, if there has been rain you’re going to have a fun time trying to burn damp twigs. It’s a much better idea to invest in a good gas grill. You should check out some gas grill reviews online to find the best one.

A location – One of the last things you need to think about is where you are going to take your family camping. You can go camping absolutely anywhere these days, including Disney world. Yes, that’s right for just forty dollars a night you can camp in the wilderness near the magic kingdom. But, if you want to do it for free, just pick a lovely wood near where you live.

I’m sure you’ll find some great fun activities for your family no matter where you decide to camp. For other great tips, check out Beginners Tips.
