Ok. I was thrown off by the previews of this movie because it comes across as a film about a hit man staring that midget Sean Penn (whom the Mobile Movie Man met and he’s 5’6 tops), but it became apparent from the beginning scenes that this was in large part an Africa the beautiful attack against the evil West imperialists, and then Sean Penn makes perfect sense for this role.

He doesn’t quite pull off the role but he’s obviously spent some time in the gym training and getting ripped for this film which we are reminded too many times of with the director force feeding shirtless scenes. The rest of the characters are pretty much cartoons copied from other movies. There are some good realistic fight scenes, especially at the end of the movie but overall the movie is too inconsistent as you have to wade through too much contrived angst ridden PC melodrama for a relatively minimal payoff. The movie is by no means bad, but at the same time it’s not great either. You can definitely do way worse than this movie. So if it’s on and there is nothing else to watch I would check it out but I would not go out of my way to see this. The Mobile Movie Man has spoken!!!
