The Great Big Bacon Picnic Hits Brooklyn This Weekend

Brooklyn’s FIRST bacon festival, The Great Big Bacon Picnic ( is coming to The Old Pfizer Factory in Williamsburg, Brooklyn on Saturday May 16th, 2015 and Sunday May 17th, 2015. The weekend long event created by Great Big Food Events LLC, ( is an indoor/outdoor gourmet celebration of the most amazing food item ever created – BACON!

​Festival co-founders and brothers Craig and Lon Taylor, along with over 100 chefs, restaurants, food trucks, brew masters, distillers, and culinary experts from all over NYC will be in attendance. Brooklyn’s own High & Mighty Brass Band who played both Bonnaroo and the Governors Ball in 2014, will be on-hand adding their New Orleans/ NYC party jams to the celebration.

The event will feature three different sessions of inspired bite-sized bacon dishes and the best in craft beers and local craft spirits, giving bacon lovers a truly unique culinary experience. Also, The Great Big Bacon Picnic will have the FIRST EVER “Bacon Bar” – yes, a bar supplied only with different varieties of bacon.


Boss Hog – $2,500 – this top honor goes to the chef that receives the highest percentage of “Licks” (Votes) per patron in any/all of the sessions and will be awarded post-event. (a $1,500 bonus above the $1K already won per sessions)

​​​The People’s Choice – $1,000 – most “Licks” (Votes) per session for each session


Most Creative Dish – $500 – most innovative use of bacon in their dish per session

​​Judges Choice – $500 – this is based on overall deliciousness per session

​​​Presentation Award – $500 – the best-looking bacon and booth per session
