Texas Hold’Em Poker For Autism

Texas Hold'em Cards

Do you like to play Texas Hold’em? Do you live in the Greater NYC area or Long Island? Do you like doing something good for a great cause? Come out for a great night and play in a Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament to support AUTISM SPEAKS on Saturday, August 2nd in Port Washington, NY. Cash Prizes and Raffles with dinner included.

Autism is the fastest growing serious developmental disability in the U.S. Among all the 3-12 year old children in the country, 1% have an autism spectrum disorder. In all, autism now affects 1 in 88 children. More children will be diagnosed with autism this year than with AIDS, diabetes, and cancer combined. Autism Speaks is an autism advocacy organization in the United States that sponsors autism research and conducts awareness and outreach activities aimed at families, governments, and the public. It was founded in February 2005 by Bob Wright, vice chairman of General Electric, and by his wife Suzanne, a year after their grandson Christian was diagnosed with autism.

Sounds like a great event for a great cause — too bad we just left NY for Maine! My boyfriend finally taught me how to play poker well enough, too.
