The Segway Meets A Unicycle

AirWheel

By now we have all seen a Segway but what if you crossed a Segway with a unicycle? What would you get? Well, you would get something like this, the Airwheel, a self balancing one wheel electric scooter. The Chinese company, Airebike created the must-have gadget of the year. It could change personal transportation in some pretty awesome ways. No more taxi fare, no more expensive gas. And best of all? You look super cool using it.

In case you are wondering on how to ride it, it requires a little bit of a learning curve. After you turn it on and it becomes more stabilized, you can hop aboard. It reportedly takes between 15 and 40 minutes to learn basic riding techniques. This skill learning will eventually evolve into controlling your speed properly by “keeping your leaning weight balanced and standing straight.”

Users stand on pedals either side of a single, upright wheel and steer by shifting their body weight from side to side using a technology similar to the Segway. The device can be ridden for approximately nine miles, at 10 miles per hour (Maximum speed of just over 11MPH)

What do you think of the Airwheel? Would you ride one? Let us know in the comments section below.
