In a little over a week Mets fans will once again be jamming into Citi Field for what is sure to be another interesting season at least. Jon Niese, who was the most likely Opening Day pitcher, will start the season on the disabled list and is most likely going to start in the fifth spot on April 6 according to ESPN.
That begs the question, who will be on the mound when the Mets open their season against the Nationals. Dillon Gee may be named the team’s Opening Day starter according to ESPN, March 20 though Terry Collins said that it “could still be [Bartolo] Colon,” and he would make a final decision this weekend.
Here is my projected line-up for Opening Day:
Eric Young Jr., LF
Daniel Murphy, 2B
David Wright, 3B
Curtis Granderson, RF
Chris Young, CF
Ike Davis, 1B
Travis d’Arnaud, C
Ruben Tejada, SS
My tickets are expected to arrive today in the mail so I figured we could all use a little refresher on how to cheer for the Orange & Blue and who better than Long Island native and “King of Queens” Kevin James to show you how it is done.
